A Moffett (also called a truck-mounted forklift) is a compact forklift that rides on the back of the delivery truck and detaches on arrival to unload materials directly at the point of placement. This means you don't need a separate site forklift or additional equipment the truck arrives, detaches the Moffett, places your materials exactly where they need to go, and leaves. It's one of the most efficient delivery setups for construction sites.
Our Moffett is suited to palletised materials including bricks, blocks, timber, landscaping materials, bagged goods, and general construction supplies. It handles uneven ground better than standard forklifts, making it ideal for residential sites that aren't fully prepared yet.
No. That's the main advantage. The Moffett travels with the truck and does the unloading on-site. This removes the need to hire a separate forklift, wait for site equipment to be available, or rely on manual handling for heavy pallets.
Yes. Moffetts are designed for real-world site conditions, including gravel, compacted dirt, and slightly uneven surfaces. They're widely used on residential builds precisely because sites are rarely flat and clean. For very soft or unstable ground, let us know when booking so we can assess suitability.
A standard flatbed delivery drops materials at the kerbside or gate someone on-site needs to move them from there. A Moffett delivery places materials at the point of use, reducing double-handling, saving your crew time, and lowering the risk of injury from manual handling. For most residential and light commercial jobs, the Moffett option is the smarter choice.
The truck needs enough road or site access to pull up safely, and the Moffett needs approximately 1.5–2m of clearance on either side to operate. For very tight sites or narrow streets, contact us before booking so we can confirm feasibility and plan the best approach.
Our operators hold current forklift licenses and are trained in truck-mounted forklift operation. All Toretto staff are employees not subcontractors which means they're trained to our standards and fully covered under our insurance and safety policies.
Yes. If materials arrive at our depot before your site is ready, we can store them short-term and complete the Moffett delivery to site when you need them. This is particularly useful for interstate freight we receive the load, stage it, and deliver last-mile at your direction.
